See the hot spots around The Balkans In 60 Days – Stop 29 Sibiu, Romania

24/9/2018 After a night at Brasov, I proceeded to another old town, Sibiu, about 140 km away.

It sure lived up to its tag as an old town. The signs of age were all over the buildings. Some of them did not even bother to powder up, to whitewash the vestiges of wear and tear. That’s the beauty of it, to see the scars left by the elements and the damages inflicted by man. They stood out, among other more smartly presented structures, like the ripped jeans that spark murmurs, or the worn leather jackets that turn heads.

The overcast sky formed the backdrop to these buildings, and the drizzle continued unabated, but it did not wash away the history in these buildings. Together they provided the perfect portrait of this old town.

This was my last stop on a long trip around the Balkan region. Tomorrow I am heading back to Bucharest before waking up to reality in Kuala Lumpur. A fitting finale to this enlightening journey.
