14-15/4/2019. I took another night bus, proceeding southward along the Chile Pacific coast. After 10 hours, I arrived at La Serena.
I hired a bicycle for the day for USD 10. This beach was wider than the beaches I had visited in the past weeks. This beach was also truly long. After riding for a few hours, I felt I was almost at the South Pole. A multitude of seagulls congregated on the beach, snacking, chatting noisily, really having a jolly good time partying. Not far away, numerous birds plunged from mid-air into the water to snatch the fish. This beach was more natural where man do their thing while the animals, theirs.
In many Latin American cities, including La Serena, street performances liked to pick the traffic junctions to capture their audiences. Sometimes a few groups were seen simultaneously showing off their performances in just one junction, making the crossroads a spectacle. I have seen ball juggling, knives juggling, street dancing, rapping, clowning, dancing, like a variety show. Those with no such talent will just have to be contented with cleaning car windscreens. Maybe that also requires talent; I don’t know.
