More than one night in Bangkok, see the temples, palaces and walk on the wild side 2/2023 (Stop 4)

15-17 Feb 2023 After a few days in laidback Koh Samui, I would now go to Bangkok, Thailand’s capital. It promises to be mouth-watering.

Thai cuisine is popular the world over. It stings, it sets the brain on fire, it sets the heart racing, but that’s the spice of life. It has to taste great, but they also want it to be exciting.

They revere their Kings. They have a special place in their hearts. The kings, past and present, have built numerous palaces in the city. The Grand Palace is a special regal place that epitomizes the Thai history and architecture. Also prominent were Buddhist temples, with showy displays of golden and colorful mosaic, with spires that pierced the sky, and  towers that were trying to test if the sky was the limit.

The city center was a concrete jungle, proudly made lively by the noisy traffic. Street food stalls are both a staple and a cultural experience. They thrived like weeds on sidewalks all over the city. Subways and sky trains traversed the city as the lifeline for its residents, ushering in modern Bangkok. Many here looked like aliens, who came to walk on the wild side of life.

Bangkok is wild; there seems to be no boundary.
